- Ensure multi‑state HR compliance, with strong focus on California regulations
- Update and maintain employee handbooks and state‑specific policies
- Manage recruiting nationwide, including high‑turnover retail roles
- Handle employee relations, terminations, and investigations
- Oversee onboarding, benefits administration, 401(k), and open enrollment
- Review payroll for accuracy and support HR operations
- Partner with leadership while operating independently
- Bilingual Spanish/English – required
- 5+ years of HR experience in a multi‑state environment
- Strong knowledge of California labor laws
- Experience supporting high‑turnover or retail workforces
- Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent experience
- Comfortable working 100% onsite
- Travel: 1–2 trips per month initially; then quarterly
- Culture requires flexibility, resilience, and comfort working within diverse and family‑owned business environments
