Title: Senior Project Accountant
Salary: $115,000 – $120,000 + Performance Bonus
Location: McLean, VA

Key Responsibilities:
The Senior Project Accountant will own full-cycle project accounting for multiple real estate development projects, including:
- Job cost accounting and capitalization
- Preparing and reviewing detailed workpapers
- Construction loan draw preparation and reconciliation
- Lot settlement accounting (HUDs, purchase agreements, sales journals)
- Contract review and revenue treatment analysis
- General ledger entries and account reconciliations
- Month-end and year-end close support
- Supporting tax workpapers and GAAP/tax basis financial reporting
- Cash management and banking activity
This Senior Project Accountant must be comfortable operating independently and serving as the technical resource within development accounting.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance (Finance must have strong debits/credits experience)
- 6+ years of real estate development, construction, or project accounting experience
- Strong understanding of development cost accounting and capitalization
- Experience preparing detailed workpapers
- Experience with lot settlements and contract interpretation
- Strong Excel skills
- Experience working within accounting systems
