Position Overview
The Senior Accountant will play a key role in managing financial reporting, maintaining compliance, and supporting the organization’s financial health. This role is ideal for a proactive Senior Accountant who thrives in a collaborative, mission-driven environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
- Manage general ledger activity and ensure accuracy of financial data
- Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and grant tracking
- Support month-end and year-end close processes
- Ensure compliance with nonprofit accounting standards and regulations
- Coordinate audits and assist with preparation of audit schedules
- Partner with internal teams to support financial transparency and reporting
- Mentor junior accounting staff and support team development
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- 3–5+ years of progressive accounting experience
- Nonprofit accounting experience preferred
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting
- Experience with fund accounting and grant reporting is a plus
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills
