Respiratory Therapist

Cherrelyn Healthcare Center is seeking a compassionate and skilled Respiratory Therapist to join our Healthcare & Medical Services team. In this role, you will provide high‑quality respiratory care to patients with acute and chronic cardiopulmonary conditions, supporting their breathing, comfort, and recovery in collaboration with an interdisciplinary clinical team. Working within a community-centered environment supported by Stellar Living’s mission, you will deliver evidence‑based therapies, educate patients and families, and contribute to an inclusive, resident‑focused culture. As a Respiratory Therapist, you will perform comprehensive respiratory assessments, interpret diagnostic data, and implement individualized therapy plans in accordance with physician orders and established clinical protocols. You will administer and manage oxygen therapy, aerosolized medications, chest physiotherapy, non‑invasive ventilation, and other respiratory interventions while closely monitoring patient responses. You will also be responsible for setting up, operating, and troubleshooting respiratory equipment, including ventilators, BiPAP/CPAP devices, oxygen delivery systems, and suction equipment, ensuring all devices are used safely and effectively. You will collaborate daily with nursing, physicians, rehabilitation staff, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate care, participate in patient rounds, and contribute to care planning, discharge readiness, and ongoing clinical quality initiatives. A key aspect of this position is patient and family education: you will teach proper inhaler and nebulizer use, breathing exercises, home oxygen safety, and symptom recognition for conditions such as COPD, asthma, and heart failure, empowering residents to better manage their respiratory health. The ideal candidate brings strong clinical judgment, excellent communication skills, and a calm, patient‑centered approach in a fast‑paced care setting. You are comfortable working independently within your scope of practice, prioritizing care among multiple patients, and documenting accurately and thoroughly in the electronic medical record. You maintain strict adherence to infection prevention and safety standards, regulatory requirements, and facility policies.
