Interim CFO - Anne Arundel County, MD

About the Company and Interim CFO Opportunity:

  • CFS is working with a well‑established multi entity organization to find an interim CFO to lead all financial operations.
  • This is a high‑visibility leadership role partnering closely with executive leadership and volunteer boards, combining strategic financial oversight with active day‑to‑day involvement. The Interim CFO will play a critical role in long‑term stewardship, financial sustainability, and governance within a mission‑driven, community‑focused setting.

Key Responsibilities of the Interim CFO:

  • Oversee all accounting and financial operations for two entities
  • Lead annual budgeting, forecasting, and capital planning
  • Develop and deliver financial reporting, analysis, and recommendations to executive leadership and Board committees
  • Enhance internal controls, financial systems, reporting accuracy, and transparency
  • Collaborate with leadership on strategic initiatives and long term financial planning
  • Lead, mentor, and develop the finance team while maintaining hands‑on involvement in core financial operations

Ideal Candidate Profile for the Interim CFO Role:

  • Bachelors in Accounting, Finance or related required. CPA highly preferred
  • 8+ years' accounting experience, ideally within non profit, property management, or hospitality industries
    • Strong knowledge of accounting, budgeting, reporting, and controls for a multi entity organization
  • Proven senior‑level financial leader experience with both strategic and operational responsibility
  • Comfortable in a highly visible, collaborative role
  • Ability to clearly communicate financial information to non‑financial stakeholders
  • Analytical, easygoing, professional, and polite and able to interact with employees at all levels; Demonstrated experience working with Boards, committees, and executive leadership
  • Advanced Excel skills

Schedule: 100% on site M-F
Salary: $140,000-$170,000
