Location: Richmond, VA; Boston, MA; NYC, NY; Philadelphia, PA; Cleveland, OH; Atlanta, GA; Chicago, IL; St. Louis, MO; Minneapolis, MN; Kansas City, MO; Dallas, TX; San Francisco, CA Contract We are seeking an experienced Solutions Architect to lead enterprise data strategy, architecture, and governance initiatives within a complex, enterprise-wide data environment. This role focuses on shaping standards, governance models, and architecture to enable long-term innovation, advanced analytics, and AI/LLM use cases, with implementation handled by partner teams. The position requires a strategic mindset and deep expertise in data architecture and governance in a regulated or enterprise setting. Key Responsibilities Designs comprehensive enterprise data and information architecture that aligns with organizational goals, balancing access, security, and performance requirements. Develops and maintains data models, schemas, and integration patterns to facilitate seamless data flow across systems. Defines and enforces data architecture standards, policies, and procedures, including data content standards, nomenclature, and metadata management strategies. Facilitates business analysis, data acquisition, and access design to optimize database management systems, archiving, recovery, and load strategies. Translates strategic business requirements into scalable enterprise data models, ontologies, taxonomies, and metadata repositories to ensure consistency across the application portfolio. Develops and implements data governance frameworks, ensuring compliance with industry regulations such as HIPAA and consumer privacy laws. Collaborates with stakeholders to understand requirements and translate them into technical data solutions. Evaluates emerging data technologies and industry best practices to recommend innovative solutions. Leads proof-of-concept initiatives to validate architectural approaches and guides junior team members and development teams with technical expertise.Creates comprehensive documentation for data architecture components, standards, and processes. Ensures existing data assets are stewarded, leveraged, and aligned with enterprise data strategies. Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field; Master’s preferred. 7+ years of experience in data architecture, data engineering, or related roles. Proven experience designing and implementing enterprise data solutions. Expert knowledge of data modeling techniques (dimensional, relational, NoSQL). Strong experience with cloud data platforms, specifically AWS. Proficiency in data integration patterns and ETL/ELT methodologies. Experience with data mesh architecture. Working knowledge of big data technologies such as Hadoop, Spark, Kafka. Familiarity with business intelligence and analytics tools. Strong understanding of data governance principles. Ability to develop technical specifications for data storage, processing, and retrieval systems. Preferred Qualifications Experience with real-time data processing architectures. Knowledge of machine learning workflows and MLOps. Certifications in relevant cloud platforms or data technologies. Experience with data fabric or data mesh architectures.
