Senior IT Project Manager - HR / Payroll System Implementation Pay Rate: $75–$95/hour (flexible) Duration: Through at least the end of the year Location: Remote – East Coast preferred (must work EST hours) Background/Reference Check: 7-year panel required Position Overview Our client is seeking a Senior IT Project Manager to join an established team. This is a senior-level role requiring strong functional expertise in HR and Payroll systems , as well as the ability to partner closely with Finance and HR stakeholders. The ideal candidate will bring a blend of hands-on IT project management experience, business-facing communication skills, and a process improvement mindset. Experience with the Deel platform is strongly preferred - Not required. Key Responsibilities Lead and manage multiple enterprise IT initiatives, including payroll implementation, time tracking systems, and benefits platforms Partner with Finance and HR teams to assess business needs and translate them into system requirements Drive process improvement initiatives to streamline and optimize HR and Payroll system usage Manage stakeholder expectations and ensure clear, consistent communication across teams Oversee project timelines, risks, dependencies, and deliverables Required Qualifications 8–10+ years of IT Project Management experience Strong functional knowledge of HR and Payroll systems Proven experience supporting or leading payroll system implementations Excellent verbal and written communication skills Demonstrated strength in stakeholder and expectation management Preferred Qualifications Experience with Deel.com (or other modern payroll platforms) Background working closely with Finance and HR organizations Process improvement and change management experience This opportunity is ideal for a senior-level IT Project Manager who excels in cross-functional collaboration and complex system implementations within HR and Payroll environments.
