Physical Therapy Assistant

A Physical Therapist Assistant functions under the direction and supervision of a licensed physical therapist and observes patients before, during, and after therapy, noting the patient's status and reporting it to a physical therapist.

SHIFT: Full-Time

RATE: $30 - $33/hr. (depending on experience)

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Help patients do specific exercises as part of the plan of care and treat patients using a variety of techniques, such as massage and stretching. Use devices and equipment, such as walkers, to help patients. Serve as a liaison to residents, families, support departments, etc., to adequately plan for resident's needs. Record patients' progress and report the results of each treatment to the physical therapist, working with them to discuss and evaluate resident information for planning, modifying, and coordinating treatment. Clean treatment areas and set up therapy equipment. Demonstrate ability to work with senior residents.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Current PTA license in NYS required
• Previous PTA experience preferred
• Experience in long-term care preferred
• Must be flexible, punctual, professional, and reliable
• Strong customer service skills and compassion
