About the Role

StoneSprings Hospital Center, part of HCA Virginia Health System, is seeking a Nurse Clinical Coordinator to support our Emergency Room within the Healthcare & Medical Services department. In this role, you will combine direct patient care with clinical leadership to ensure safe, efficient, and high‑quality services across the ER. Working in a fast‑paced, high‑acuity environment, you will coordinate patient flow, oversee clinical standards, and support the ER nursing team in delivering compassionate, evidence‑based care. The Nurse Clinical Coordinator will serve as a clinical resource and role model for staff, helping to assess patient needs, prioritize care, and facilitate timely interventions. You will collaborate closely with physicians, advanced practice providers, specialists, and ancillary teams to ensure seamless communication, accurate documentation, and adherence to hospital policies and regulatory requirements. You will help monitor quality metrics, support performance improvement initiatives, and participate in the development and implementation of clinical protocols and best practices specific to emergency care. Responsibilities include providing direct bedside nursing care, triaging patients, administering medications and treatments, and performing comprehensive assessments and reassessments. You will help coordinate staffing and assignments during your shift, assist with orientation and coaching of new and existing nurses, and support ongoing skills development and competency validation. You will actively participate in patient and family education, promote a safe and respectful environment, and escalate concerns regarding patient status or resource needs to leadership as appropriate. The ideal candidate is a Registered Nurse with at least two years of recent emergency department experience who is comfortable managing a high volume of patients with diverse and often complex medical needs. You must be able to think critically, prioritize rapidly, and communicate clearly under pressure while maintaining empathy and professionalism. Strong clinical judgment, attention to detail in documentation, and familiarity with electronic health record systems are essential.
