This opportunity is ideal for a Mainframe Developer who thrives in stability-focused, high-impact environments , where precision, system integrity, and deep technical knowledge matter more than greenfield builds. You’ll join a long-standing engineering team in Minneapolis responsible for core data distribution and deposit systems, supporting applications that process and validate critical financial data at scale. These are highly integrated, legacy platforms where performance, accuracy, and uptime are non-negotiable. This is not a “build from scratch” role — it’s about owning, improving, and protecting systems that already work at scale. What You’ll Do Enhance and maintain complex COBOL-based applications supporting core business operations Work heavily with VSAM datasets and batch processing workflows Develop and modify JCL to support production job streams and data processing Validate and distribute high-volume data across interconnected systems Troubleshoot and resolve production issues in a controlled, process-driven environment Participate in Agile ceremonies while operating within structured enterprise change management Contribute to system stability and continuous improvement of long-standing applications Support and mentor junior engineers on mainframe best practices What You Bring Deep hands‑on experience with VSAM and batch processing Proven ability to work within highly customized, legacy systems Solid understanding of JCL and production workflows Experience supporting business‑critical applications where downtime is not an option What Sets You Apart Background in financial services or regulated environments Understanding of how transactional data (accounts, routing, deposits) flows through systems Experience working in batch‑heavy, overnight processing environmentsFamiliarity with tools like ServiceNow for incident/change management Ability to mentor and elevate junior talent Hybrid schedule based in Minneapolis, MN (3 days onsite / 2 remote) Collaborative team with deep institutional knowledge This role is for engineers who take pride in owning complex systems, ensuring stability, and making incremental improvements that drive real business impact. #J-18808-Ljbffr
