Overview The Paralegal assists attorneys with labor and employment and litigation matters and manages related data and information. This position reports directly to the Sr. Managing Paralegal. Primary Responsibilities u2022 Manage litigation deadlines and respond to subpoenas u2022 Serve as a liaison for and assist outside counsel regarding discovery, depositions and document production u2022 Oversee the support provided to the organization's litigation efforts using technology u2022 Perform quality control of document management and confirm the accuracy of documents u2022 Manage and analyze data related to litigation, investigations, employee relations matters, and other employment-related claims and issues u2022 Assist with developing and maintaining department resource materials and databases u2022 Collaborate and build effective relationships with other departments throughout the Company u2022 Manage the corporation's legal assistants and litigation technology u2022 Perform other job-related duties as assigned Additional Primary Responsibilities Minimum Qualifications u2022 Bacheloru2019s Degree and three years of experience or equivalent education and related experience u2022 Five years of experience managing litigation and/or labor and employment matters at a law firm or in-house u2022 Demonstrated sound business ethics and consistently adhering to and promoting these in all business and personal transactions u2022 Flexible work schedule and ability to travel as needed Preferred Qualifications u2022 Prior experience using DocuSign, NAVEX, and Legal Files or similar document management software; experience with Tableau a plus u2022 Knowledge of and ability to use e-discovery technology and software u2022 Knowledge of and ability to read, interpret and draw accurate conclusions from both legal and Company information u2022 Knowledge of the major responsibilities, accountabilities, and organization of the legal function or department; ability to provide legal consulting, advice and assistance under guidance of an attorney u2022 Paralegal certificate u2022 Experience as a paralegal with in-house legal department u2022 Ability to type 50 WPM accurately u2022 Ability to organize and prioritize numerous tasks and complete them under time constraints u2022 Excellent reading, writing, and comprehension skills in English u2022 Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively with colleagues and outside counsel u2022 Strong cognitive and analytical skills u2022 Ability to define problems, collect data, establish the accuracy of facts and draw valid conclusions Physical Demands + Physical demands include a considerable amount of time sitting and typing/keyboarding, using a computer (e.g., keyboard, mouse, and monitor), or adding machine + Physical demands with activity or condition may occasionally include walking, bending, reaching, standing, and stooping + May require occasional lifting/lowering, pushing, carrying, or pulling up to 20lbs EEO Statement Southern Glazer's Wine and Spirits, an Affirmative Action/EEO employer, prohibits discrimination and harassment of any type and provides equal employment opportunities to all employees and applicants for employment without regard to race, color, religion, age, sex, national origin, disability status, genetics, protected veteran status, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, or any other characteristic protected by federal, state or local laws.
