HR Assistant — ? Ossining, New York | ? Monday–Friday, 35 hrs/week | ? $27.00/hr

✦ The Role

As the HR Assistant, you'll be the backbone of the HR department — the first point of contact for staff on questions related to payroll, benefits, and school policy. You'll keep personnel operations running smoothly across a multidisciplinary team of teachers, therapists, and administrative staff, all while maintaining the confidentiality and care this environment demands.

✦ Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate onboarding for new hires including background checks, fingerprinting, and new-hire orientations
  • Maintain accurate and confidential personnel files and update HR databases with employee status changes
  • Serve as a liaison with benefits providers and assist staff through open enrollment
  • Manage departmental communications, schedule interviews and meetings, and process employment applications
  • Ensure all HR documentation meets state and industry requirements

✦ Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree in HR or related field preferred
  • 2–3 years of administrative experience, ideally in an education or healthcare setting
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel) and familiarity with HRIS or payroll software (e.g., Paylocity)
  • Exceptional communication skills, high integrity, and a strong commitment to confidentiality
