About the Role
An opportunity is available for a project to standardize and centralize documentation across multiple plants using the ETQ document management system. This hands-on role involves working with plant operators and engineers to collect, catalog, and upload documents into a pre-defined structure. This position is suited for candidates with organizational skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a manufacturing environment.
Location: Sylmar, CA; Mojave, CA; Dallas/Arlington/Grand Prairie, TX (On-site) Employment Type: Contract
Key Responsibilities
- Partner with plant operators, engineers, and site personnel to identify and locate existing documentation, including electronic and paper files.
- Search, review, and catalog documents such as engineering drawings, manuals, and training materials.
- Categorize and organize documents according to a pre-defined folder and taxonomy structure.
- Scan, upload, and validate documents in the ETQ document management system.
- Ensure documents are complete, accurately labeled, and stored in the correct location with proper revision management.
- Track progress and flag missing or incomplete documentation.
- Collaborate with internal project and development teams as needed.
Required Qualifications
Experience: Must be comfortable interacting with manufacturing engineers, maintenance staff, and operators. Ability to take initiative, ask questions, and manage project tasks. Must be able to work on-site, five days a week during standard business hours.
Technical Skills: Proficient with the Microsoft Office suite (Excel, Word). Must be a quick learner with new technologies and able to use the ETQ system after training.
Work Authorization: U.S. citizenship is required for the Sylmar, CA and Texas locations.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in administrative, document management, or records management roles.
- Familiarity with quality management systems (QMS) or regulated environments.
- Previous exposure to ETQ or similar document management platforms.
- Consideration for recent graduates or entry-level candidates with strong organizational skills.
