Document Control Lead / Administrator

Location: Billingsley, AL 36006 Client: Alabama Power Contract: 2 Years

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Document Control Lead / Administrator with over 11 years of experience managing and optimizing document control processes. This position plays a key leadership role in ensuring efficiency, compliance, and accuracy in all document management activities across the organization.

The ideal candidate will provide strategic oversight of document creation, revision, and maintenance, while driving the adoption of best practices, standards, and continuous process improvement.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and oversee document control operations, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and compliance with corporate and industry standards.

  • Develop, revise, and maintain controlled documents in alignment with regulatory, contractual, and organizational requirements.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to perform thorough reviews, verifications, and validations of critical documentation.

  • Utilize advanced document management systems and software tools to categorize, track, archive, and retrieve documents efficiently.

  • Generate comprehensive reports and dashboards summarizing document control performance, audit results, and improvement recommendations.

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for all internal stakeholders, providing expert guidance and support on document control processes.

  • Establish and enforce document control procedures, workflows, and retention policies to ensure continuous compliance and quality.

  • Spearhead the development and implementation of standard operating procedures (SOPs) and best practices for document management.

Qualifications
  • 11+ years of experience in document control, records management, or quality system administration.

  • Strong understanding of document lifecycle management, compliance frameworks, and regulatory documentation standards.

  • Proficiency with document control software (e.g., SharePoint, Documentum, or similar systems).

  • Exceptional organizational, analytical, and communication skills.

  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and deliver under strict deadlines.

  • Demonstrated leadership in process improvement and team coordination.

Ideal Candidate
  • Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and proactive with strong problem-solving skills.

  • Experienced in audits, QA/QC documentation, and maintaining traceable records.
