Salary: $100,000 - $120,000
Our client, a leading construction firm in the Dayton area, is looking to add an Accounting Manager to their accounting team. The Accounting Manager plays a key role in daily financial operations, reporting, and analysis across the organization and its subsidiaries. This role partners closely with leadership—particularly the CFO—to support strategic decision‑making, ensure financial accuracy, and assist with select HR‑related responsibilities.

Responsibilities
  • Oversee general bookkeeping and monthly/quarterly/annual close processes

  • Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts for accuracy and completeness

  • Review financial and job‑cost data, resolving discrepancies and identifying trends

  • Support risk management activities related to insurance and bonding

  • Assist with payroll and benefits administration while guiding and developing team members

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance

  • 5+ years of progressive accounting experience; construction or public accounting experience is a plus

  • Strong understanding of GAAP, financial reporting, and auditing processes

  • Familiarity with corporate taxes (income, sales/use, payroll)

  • Excellent analytical, problem‑solving, and communication skills
