Accounting Supervisor
Location: Stamford, CTSchedule: 100% On‑Site
Overview
We are seeking an experienced Accounting Supervisor to join a Finance team ASAP. This role will be responsible for overseeing junior-level accounting staff.Key Responsibilities
- Review and oversee junior accounting staff across general ledger activities, journal entries, reconciliations, and month‑end close
- Ensure accuracy and timely resolution of GL error reports, accruals, prepaids, and fixed assets
- Supervise accounts payable processing, payroll activities, and non‑payroll tax withholding
- Support sales and use tax compliance and related filings
- Assist with banking and cash‑related activities, including foreign check collection
- Provide guidance, quality control, and hands‑on support to ensure continuity and accuracy within the Finance department
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance or similar discipline
- 5+ years of general accounting experience
- Prior experience in a supervisory or senior accounting role
- Strong working knowledge of general ledger accounting, month‑end close, and reconciliations
- Experience reviewing the work of junior or staff‑level accounting professionals
- Detail‑oriented, organized, and comfortable stepping into a fast‑paced environment
- Ability to work 100% on‑site in Stamford, CT
