Role Overview

Join Deloitte’s Sustainability & ESG Services Team as an Audit & Assurance Intern for Summer 2026. This internship combines financial audit exposure with environmental, social and governance (ESG) consulting. You’ll work with specialists in climate policy, risk measurement, sustainability reporting and data analytics.


Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in ESG materiality assessments, risk and opportunity analysis.
  • Perform sustainability-related assurance procedures, including testing ESG data and controls.
  • Contribute to corporate reporting aligned to frameworks such as GRI, SASB, TCFD, GHG Protocol, CDP, PRI and UN SDGs.
  • Support decarbonization strategies, science-based target projects and climate risk assessments.
  • Research ESG data, prepare deliverables, and participate in client meetings.

Qualifications

Required

  • Pursuing an undergraduate degree in business with sustainability minor/dual, or sustainability management, climate policy, public policy, or related environmental/engineering discipline.
  • Minimum cumulative GPA 3.0.
  • Ability to travel up to 50% and co-locate at the assigned office about 3 days/week.
  • At least 18 years of age; limited immigration sponsorship available.

Preferred

  • Meets minimum CPA educational requirements (varies by state).
  • GPA 3.2+.
  • Knowledge of ESG standards and frameworks (GRI, SASB, TCFD, GHG Protocol, SDGs).
  • Data analytics skills; familiarity with Tableau, ArcGIS, Python.
  • Understanding of areas like circular economy, carbon accounting, sustainable finance, or ESG governance.
  • Leadership experience through campus activities or internships.
