About the Role

This position plays an essential role in direct patient care. The CT/X-Ray Tech collaborates closely with radiologists, nurses, emergency department staff, and other healthcare professionals, ensuring timely completion of exams and rapid availability of images for clinical decision-making. You will routinely perform examinations for emergency, inpatient, and outpatient populations, including trauma and critically ill patients, and may assist with portable radiography exams throughout the facility as needed.
Key responsibilities include adhering to infection prevention and safety guidelines, verifying exam protocols, evaluating image quality, and repeating images when necessary to meet diagnostic standards. You will accurately document patient information, exam details, contrast usage, and radiation dose in the electronic medical record and PACS, maintaining regulatory compliance and supporting quality improvement initiatives. The CT/X-Ray Tech participates in equipment quality control checks, promptly reports malfunctions, and assists with maintaining a clean, organized, and safe imaging environment.
The culture at Methodist Health System emphasizes integrity, compassion, and accountability. As a CT/X-Ray Tech, you are expected to demonstrate professional behavior, respect for diversity, and strong teamwork skills on every shift. You will actively contribute to a supportive and inclusive environment, communicate effectively during handoffs, and participate in ongoing education, competencies, and departmental meetings to keep skills and knowledge current. Flexibility to work variable shifts, weekends, holidays, and on-call rotations may be required to meet patient and departmental needs.
Candidates should bring a solid foundation in radiographic anatomy, cross-sectional anatomy, and radiation physics, along with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks and respond appropriately in urgent and emergent situations. Previous hospital or emergency department imaging experience is highly valued. Methodist Health System offers competitive compensation and a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, and retirement options, within an organization that supports professional growth and advancement in a mission-driven, patient-focused setting.
