About the Role

El Dorado Animal Hospital - Associate Veterinarian (DVM)

Location: Fountain Hills, AZ - Fountain Hills is a scenic desert community nestled against the McDowell Mountains, known for its striking natural beauty, peaceful atmosphere, and strong sense of community. Surrounded by desert landscapes, hiking trails, and open space, it offers easy access to outdoor recreation while maintaining a relaxed, small-town feel. Open: Monday-Saturday

Work Week for This Role: 4 days per week (any four together with 3 days off), rotating Saturdays (2 per month)

Services:
  • Small Animal GP
  • Drop-off, Urgent Care (with occasional Emergency triage cases) during regular business hours
  • A broad range of soft tissue surgeries including: spay and neuter for dogs and cats; mass removals and biopsies; intestinal, lymph node, liver and other tissue biopsies; spleen removal; wound care; amputations (all orthopedics are referred)
  • Advanced dental care services, supported by staff who are specifically trained in dental anesthetics
  • A certified Cat Friendly Practice (CFP) by the American Association of Feline Practitioners (AAFP)
  • Internal Medicine/Dermatology services with a compassionate, consultative approach
  • American Animal Hospital Association (AAHA) certified practice

  • Surgery: Spay/neuter, mass removals, eyelid surgery, enucleation, splenectomies, foreign body surgeries, cystotomies, amputations
  • Dentistry: Routine preventative and advanced surgical procedures are in high demand with our clients

Clinic, Equipment, and support team:
  • 3 sparkling clean exam rooms
  • Dedicated modern surgery suite
  • Anesthetic machines and monitoring equipment, surgery lights and table
  • Dental radiography (digital) and machine
  • Whole body digital X-ray
  • Phillps CX 50 ultrasound
  • Full in-house diagnostic capabilities including electrolytes & coags
  • High staff-to-doctor ratio: 3:1 (4 CVTs)
  • Fiber internet and individual computers for each doctor
  • Cloud-based digital med record system integrated with IDEXX, radiography, labs
  • AI assisted notes

Required for this role:
  • DVM/VMD degree from an accredited veterinary program, or currently enrolled and expected to graduate from an accredited veterinary program
  • Licensed or license-eligible in Arizona
