U.S.VETS is the nation's largest nonprofit dedicated to preventing and ending veteran homelessness is seeking a Veteran Service Assistant Security to support safety and security operations at our Las Vegas site.

This role is ideal for someone looking to grow in security, public service, or residential program operations while making a meaningful impact.

The Opportunity

As a Veteran Service Assistant Security, you will play a key role in maintaining a safe and secure environment for veterans, staff, and visitors. You will monitor activity, respond to incidents, and help ensure compliance with safety protocols across the site.

This is a hands-on role that requires awareness, professionalism, and the ability to respond effectively in real-time situations.

What You'll Do
  • Patrol & Monitor: Conduct routine patrols and monitor site activity to maintain safety and deter potential issues
  • Respond to Incidents: Address alarms, emergencies, and security concerns promptly and appropriately
  • Control Access: Verify identification, monitor entry points, and ensure only authorized individuals access restricted areas
  • Document & Report: Complete detailed incident reports and maintain accurate logs
  • Support Safety Protocols: Identify hazards and ensure compliance with safety and security procedures
  • Assist in Emergencies: Act as a first responder during emergencies, including evacuations or medical situations
  • Monitor Systems: Utilize CCTV, alarms, and other systems to detect and respond to suspicious activity
  • Provide Professional Support: Assist residents, staff, and visitors while maintaining a calm and professional presence

Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • Experience in security, military, law enforcement, or related field preferred
  • Strong observation and situational awareness skills
  • Ability to handle stressful situations and respond effectively
  • Basic knowledge of security systems (CCTV, alarms, access control) preferred
  • Strong communication and report-writing skills
  • Physical ability to stand, walk, and patrol for extended periods
  • Flexibility to work various shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays
