Description

American Traveler is seeking a Speech-Language Pathologist with CCC-SLP certification and a current Oregon license for a 13-week acute care hospital assignment, with pediatric experience highly preferred.

Details
  • Acute care hospital setting within the Speech-Language Pathology department
  • Serves both pediatric and adult patient populations
  • Treats speech, language, cognitive, swallowing, dysphagia, hearing, and oral motor disorders
  • Inpatient and outpatient caseload
  • Epic EMR experience preferred but not required
  • 5 days per week, 8-hour day shifts
Requirements
  • Master's degree or equivalent from an accredited Speech-Language Pathology program
  • Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA
  • Current Oregon Speech-Language Pathology license (license required if applicable)
  • Current BLS certification
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience preferred; CFYs may be considered
  • Hospital experience preferred but not required
  • Experience with both adult and pediatric populations preferred
  • Feeding and dysphagia skills are a plus
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs independently and assist with patient transfers over 100 lbs using appropriate techniques or mechanical aids
  • Sufficient auditory, visual, and tactile abilities to perform clinical assessments and patient care tasks
Additional Information
  • Evaluates and treats patients with speech, language, cognitive, and swallowing disorders across pediatric and adult populations
  • Collaborates as an integral member of the interdisciplinary treatment team and participates in coordinated care sessions
  • Documents patient care using SOAP note format
  • Conducts swallowing evaluations and applies dysphagia treatment techniques
  • CRASE training preferred; required if the assignment extends beyond 6 months
  • Agency staff may be floated to other departments where qualified before core staff is floated
  • Fast-paced indoor healthcare environment with exposure to infectious diseases and hazardous materials; PPE required
  • Professional dress code and visible ID badge required at all times
