Job Overview
The CT Technologist performs CT scans and diagnostic imaging procedures. This role involves preparing patients, operating imaging equipment, and ensuring high-quality images while maintaining patient safety.
Key Responsibilities
Perform
CT scans and diagnostic imaging procedures
Prepare and position patients for imaging exams
Review patient history and verify exam requirements
Operate CT equipment and ensure image quality
Administer IV contrast when required and monitor patient reactions
Follow radiation safety guidelines (ALARA principles)
Assist radiologist with procedures when needed (e.g., biopsies)
Maintain accurate documentation in imaging systems (PACS/RIS)
Ensure proper stocking and cleanliness of imaging rooms
Requirements
Minimum
1 year of CT Tech experience
Experience in hospital or trauma setting preferred
Strong patient care and communication skills
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
Certifications Required
BLS (Basic Life Support)
ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists)
CT Certification (ARRT-CT or registry eligible)
Education
High School Diploma or GED
Ongoing continuing education as required
