Minimum Qualifications

  • Associate degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited educational program.
  • Active Florida PTA license required to start the assignment.
  • BLS certification from AHA or ARC may be required.
  • Experience working in an outpatient physical therapy setting preferred.
  • Demonstrated competency with therapeutic modalities such as hot/cold packs, ultrasound, and TENS preferred.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience training patients in use of assistive devices including canes, crutches, walkers, and wheelchairs.
  • Familiarity with documentation of patient progress and response to treatment in an outpatient EMR.

Assignment Details

  • Shift pattern: 5x8.

Impacting Patient Care

You will implement treatment goals, plans, and programs as established by the Physical Therapist. Responsibilities include assisting with posture training, strengthening, endurance training, balance and coordination exercises, gait training with orthotics and assistive devices, and use of therapeutic modalities. You will document patient progress, educate patients and families on body mechanics, maintain safe patient handling practices, and comply with infection control and facility policies. You will collaborate with interdisciplinary team members and participate in quality improvement activities.
