Pay Rate: $2440.00 - $2515.00

This outpatient Physical Therapist position is based in Sacramento, California, a dynamic and growing city that combines the energy of a state capital with the relaxed feel of Northern California living. Sacramento is known as the Farm-to-Fork Capital, offering an exceptional food scene with fresh local produce, farmers markets, and a wide range of restaurants and cafes. The city features tree-lined streets, historic neighborhoods, and a vibrant downtown and Midtown area with arts, music, and cultural events throughout the year. Outdoor enthusiasts enjoy the American and Sacramento Rivers, extensive bike trails, and nearby parks, while those who love to travel appreciate easy access to San Francisco, Napa Valley wine country, Lake Tahoe, and the Sierra Nevada mountains for year-round recreation.
The clinic is part of a modern outpatient rehabilitation network that emphasizes high-quality, patient-centered care. Facilities typically include well-equipped gyms, private treatment spaces, and access to contemporary therapeutic modalities and technology. You can expect a collaborative environment with other physical therapists, physical therapist assistants, and support staff, along with opportunities to interact closely with referring physicians and other healthcare professionals. The culture prioritizes clinical excellence, ongoing education, and supportive teamwork, making it a strong setting for both early-career and experienced therapists.
In this role, you will provide comprehensive physical therapy services to a primarily orthopedic and musculoskeletal outpatient caseload. Typical patients include individuals recovering from joint replacements, arthroscopic surgeries, sports-related injuries, spine conditions, and general orthopedic issues. Depending on the specific clinic location, you may also see athletes, workers’ compensation cases, and active adults seeking performance enhancement or return-to-sport care. A typical day involves performing thorough evaluations, developing individualized plans of care, delivering evidence-based interventions, and educating patients and families on home programs and long-term wellness strategies.
Patient schedules and caseloads are designed to support both productivity and quality care. Therapists commonly manage a steady flow of visits with support from physical therapist assistants and front-office staff, allowing you to focus on assessment, treatment planning, and advanced interventions. You will use an electronic medical record system for documentation, communication, and outcome tracking, helping ensure coordination of care and consistency with clinical pathways.
The position offers a structured setting for professional development. You may have access to internal clinical education, mentorship from experienced clinicians, and potential pathways to specialize in areas such as orthopedics, sports, or hand therapy. The broader network environment can support career growth into lead therapist, clinical specialist, or leadership roles over time. You will be part of a team that values collaboration, open communication, and a shared commitment to helping patients achieve meaningful functional gains.
This opportunity is ideal for a Physical Therapist who enjoys the fast pace and variety of outpatient practice, appreciates a supportive and well-resourced clinical environment, and wants to live and work in a city that offers both professional opportunity and an excellent quality of life. Sacramento’s blend of cultural amenities, outdoor activities, and convenient access to some of California’s most desirable destinations makes it an especially appealing place to build or continue
