Job DescriptionThe Occupational Therapist I/II / Advanced Occupational Therapist I/II position provides quality occupational therapy services to a predominantly Native American population. Responsibilities include the rehabilitation of patients with developmental, cognitive, mental, emotional, and physical disabilities by planning and administering medically prescribed occupational therapy.
Responsibilities- Assess and interpret evaluation and test results for patients ranging in age from birth through geriatric.
- Determine occupational therapy treatment plans in consultation with physicians and document in electronic health records (EHR).
- Evaluate patient progress and make adjustments to therapy plans as needed.
- Promote maximum independence through the selection and construction of therapy activities.
- Maintain operation and organization of the Occupational Therapy program for outpatients and inpatients.
- Provide specialty services such as custom orthoses, sensory integration, and activities of daily living.
- Assist in the development of the occupational therapy service, including quality improvement and safety measures.
- Comply with occupational therapy certification requirements and adhere to professional ethics and standards.
- Train and educate students and staff.
- Consult with the rehabilitation team and other healthcare workers.
- Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program.
- Valid, current, unrestricted license from the American Occupational Therapy Association and Arizona Department of Health, or eligibility for licensure in Arizona.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification by the American Heart Association.
- Minimum of two years of experience as a licensed Occupational Therapist, with strong orthopedic skills preferred.
