Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s, Master’s, or Doctoral degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited program approved by the APTA.
  • Active Maine physical therapy license required to start the assignment.
  • BLS certification from AHA or ARC required.
  • Minimum 1 year of PT experience required. Home health experience preferred but other PT settings will be considered.
  • Valid driver’s license, reliable vehicle, and current auto insurance required. Candidate must be able to travel up to 50–100 miles per day and cover Aroostook County when needed.
  • Experience treating adults with post-operative care, fall risk, deconditioning, and mobility impairments. Occasional treatment of school-aged children is possible.
  • Ability to use Netsmart EMR or willingness to learn.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior home health physical therapy experience.
  • Experience managing a caseload of approximately 20–25 patients.

Assignment Details

  • Shift pattern: Flex shifts . Manager may consider 4x10-hour shift schedules.
  • Weekend rotation: approximately 1 weekend every 4–6 weeks, covering Saturday and Sunday.
  • Holiday coverage: facility operates holidays; expectation to cover major and minor holidays per schedule (approximately 50% of holidays included in contract).
  • Orientation: 1–2 weeks of orientation provided.
  • Support: scheduler on site, PT leads, and manager available by phone.
  • Floating: assignment may require travel throughout Aroostook County; travel between towns possible during the day.

Impacting Patient Care

Provide home-based rehabilitation to adults with post-operative needs, mobility limitations, and deconditioning. Manage an independent caseload while coordinating with schedulers and clinical leads. Contribute to improved patient function and safety in community settings.
