Government Jobs - Full-Time Permanent - $1,127.76 - $1,229.36 Biweekly The Transportation Worker 1 Equipment Operator, under general supervision, will be performing entry level functions, working in the construction and maintenance of highways. Duties include: Driving a light truck or vehicle during regular operation as well as during snow removal and ice control (SRIC). Operating various equipment such as a fork truck, end loader, skid steer, rollers, utility tractor, brush chipper, as well as various hand tools. May fill in answering telephone and radio calls during SRIC. May be responsible for transporting materials or fuel to equipment. Providing traffic control by flagging on job sites. Responsibilities
- Perform entry-level highway construction and maintenance tasks
- Operate light trucks and equipment in snow/ice control and on construction sites
- Provide traffic control and assist with equipment transportation
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Valid driver's license
- Ability to operate or learn equipment such as fork lift, end loader, skid steer, rollers, and tractors
