About the Role
Memorial Health, a leading healthcare provider in Savannah, Georgia, is seeking an experienced and compassionate Charge Nurse to support our Healthcare & Medical Services team. In this key leadership role, you will oversee the daily clinical operations of your assigned unit while delivering direct, patient-centered nursing care. You will coordinate patient flow, manage staffing assignments, and serve as a resource and role model for nurses and support staff, ensuring that patients receive safe, high-quality, and timely care.
As a Charge Nurse at Memorial Health, you will use your clinical expertise to perform comprehensive patient assessments, develop and implement individualized care plans, administer medications and treatments, and evaluate patient responses in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team. You will communicate closely with physicians, advanced practice providers, therapists, case managers, and ancillary departments to coordinate admissions, discharges, and transfers, promoting efficient use of resources and seamless care transitions. You will actively respond to changes in patient status, participate in rapid response and emergency situations, and guide the team in prioritizing care based on patient acuity.
You will play a vital leadership role on the unit by organizing daily assignments, adjusting staffing as needed, and providing real-time coaching, feedback, and support to nurses and assistive personnel. You will foster a culture of collaboration, respect, and accountability while reinforcing evidence-based practices and Memorial Health’s standards of excellence. As a clinical leader, you will help orient new staff, mentor less experienced nurses, and contribute to an environment that values learning, innovation, and continuous improvement.
Memorial Health is known for its commitment to quality, safety, and patient satisfaction. In this Charge Nurse role, you will help drive quality and performance improvement efforts by promoting adherence to hospital policies, regulatory requirements, and infection prevention standards. You will ensure thorough and accurate documentation in the Electronic Health Record and support initiatives focused on patient safety, patient experience, and improved clinical outcomes.
Charge Nurses are integral to bringing this culture to life, serving as a visible, approachable leader for patients, families, and staff. At Memorial Health, you will have opportunities for professional development, leadership growth, and participation in educational programs and committees that advance practice and enhance patient care.
