The Role A Presidio Senior Solutions Architect (Sr. SA) leads presales discovery, analysis, architecture, design and proposals of relevant solutions that map to customer outcomes and requirements through direct client engagement. The Sr. SA leverages presales methodologies, technical acumen, key relationships (clients, internal Presidio stakeholders and vendor partners) and context analysis (Industry, Customer, Technical, Sales) to position and recommend solutions that deliver long‑term value. Travel Requirements Expected travel up to 25%. Remote position based in the United States. Job Responsibilities Understand Customer Current State. Proactively drive discovery and understanding of customer IT current state, goals, outcomes, and initiatives across Business, Technical, Operational, and financial facets. Research industry trends and topics, develop discovery approaches, lead workshops, and document customer current state to assist sales teams in targeting future‑state architectures and roadmaps. Technical Opportunity Leadership. Identify customer stakeholders and their success criteria; create and lead technical solution approaches and next steps aligned with customer needs. Align, vet, and coordinate Presidio and vendor partner technical resources; engage Manager/VP/Director level at clients directly. Solution Architecture, Design and Documentation. Analyze and assess client requirements, determine target architecture and design solutions (HW, SW, Licensing, Cloud services, Managed Services, Delivery Services, etc.) and roadmaps. Create and deliver compelling technical proposals, including drawings, diagrams, and analysis. Technical Excellence & Evangelism. Maintain high technical excellence and evangelism across multiple solution architecture and product areas. Lead delivery of relevant technical knowledge, presentations, and conversations at all client levels and events. Participate in technical champion programs and communities; earn certifications when appropriate; learn, discuss, and present new and emerging technical topics. Account Leadership. Participate in client account activities that establish the Solution Architect as a trusted advisor—account planning, EBCs, social events, etc. Team Engagement and Enable Culture. Engage Presidio team members, contribute to team activities, and support collaboration tools to drive an open, inclusive, resilient, change‑oriented culture. Steward the PRESIDIO CULTURE—Teamwork, Execution Excellence, Integrity, and Forward‑Thinking. Partner Relationships. Develop relationships with vendor partner teams; contribute to and drive execution of partner GTM strategies. Continuous Improvement & Innovation. Mentor and enable others in sales and presales; share methods, content, and lessons learned. Required Skills Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience and/or military experience. 7+ years of experience in systems engineering or solution architecture. 5+ years of experience with AWS, including hands‑on migration of workloads. Experience in a consulting role. Knowledge of Cloud Migration frameworks and strategies. Knowledge of Cloud adoption models and approaches. Expert‑level knowledge of design, implementation and support of one or more of the following (required): Cloud Management Platforms (ServiceNow, Jira, Miro Focus, Cloud Service Automation, VMware vRealize Automation, Cloudify, Morpheus, Cloudbolt, Turbonomics). Compute and Storage Architectures & Platforms. SDDC & Virtualization (VMware, Red Hat, HyperV, Nutanix). Data Protection Platforms (Dell EMC, Rubrik, Veeam, Cohesity, Commvault). Container platforms (Kubernetes, OpenShift, Rancher, Tanzu). Infrastructure as Code Tools (Ansible, Terraform, Chef, Puppet, AWS CloudFormation, Azure Resource Manager). Demonstrated comfort leading presentations, solution demonstrations and whiteboard sessions. Drive for trying new ideas and seeking mentoring and coaching. Additional Desired Skills Knowledge and experience with design, implementation and/or support of one or more of the following (preferred): Network Route & Switch. Security, Compliance & Governance frameworks and tools. CI/CD pipelines and tools (Jenkins, Concourse). Authentication / Authorization, Directory services. Agile practices and frameworks (Kanban, SAFe, Scrum). Cloud platform certifications (Cloud Solution Architect with Azure). Presales experience with a strong bias for action. Program management or project management experience. Experience driving complex multi‑discipline IT projects. Experience and/or ability to prepare RFP/RFI responses, proposals and solutions. Comfort leading CIO/CTO level presentations, solution demonstrations and whiteboard sessions. Experience reviewing and/or writing statements of work (SOW) and Bill of Material (BoM) for various types of projects supporting Cloud and datacenter solutions.
