SUMMARY
This contract Project Manager 3 (PM) position will provide project management expertise and support to the Transmission Technology Services Work Planning & Delivery organization. This assignment will collaborate closely with key managerial stakeholders, architects, subject matter experts and compliance staff to develop Operational Technology (OT) projects and program initiatives specifically related to cyber security. Collaborating closely with the corporate IT Portfolio manager, the PM will work with project teams to draft and execute OT project plans; create and track schedules and budgets; facilitate and coordinate project activities; track, monitor, and provide detailed status and milestone reporting for multiple designated projects
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide project management expertise, support, and facilitation of corporate manager-assigned Control Center (CC) Cyber Security OT projects, from beginning to end, providing expert guidance on the PMI-based project management methodology, best practices, and internal skill development
- Identify and request necessary subject matter experts needed during the project.
- Forecast and recommend/request appropriate project resources to fulfill project needs
- Collaborate with internal business units and corporate Performance Managers
- Schedule and facilitate project team meetings.
- Recommend an overall roadmap of efforts required to achieve program initiatives and project objectives.
- Provide recommendations regarding project expectations, approach, roadmaps, work plans, deliverables, and goals.
- Draft project plans, resource strategies, and funding estimates
- Alert corporate manager of and obtain appropriate authorization for any potential changes to project cost, schedule, or scope.
- Organize, coordinate, and facilitate the work of project team(s) and serve as liaison between business and technical aspects of projects
- Monitor progress of assigned projects to track timelines, milestones, deadlines, standards, and targets, alerting appropriate corporate manager / personnel of any obstacles or potential delays to project timelines, targets, or success
- Coordinate activities for assigned projects that enable goals or objectives to be met within the prescribed time and funding parameters
- Collaborate with corporate managers and internal stakeholders to facilitate the tasks and activities of project team(s) and to properly understand related business needs, dependencies on other initiatives
- Address and navigate politically sensitive issues in a collaborative and professional manner.
- Provide background information, technical input, options, and recommendations for project decisions
- Issue project status reports on a regular basis.
- Maintain consistent communication with project sponsors, performance managers, and clients on the progress of the project vis-a-vis the work plan.
- Collaborate and work with project sponsors and corporate performance managers to remove obstacles
- Draft a final project report, including project “lessons-learned”
- Take a proactive stance on project risk management
- Maintain issue, risk, and action logs.
- Develop, draft and recommend contingency plans to minimize / eliminate risks on an ongoing basis
- Communicate regularly with executive sponsors, key stakeholders, strategic partners, and corporate managers independently and in team meetings.
- Support and facilitate the following deliverables: Scope Definition and Management, Implement Organizational Design and Change Management, Process and System Design requirements.
- Project management best practice gap analysis.
- Project documentation.
- When necessary, facilitate the successful transition of a project or program of projects to another project manager
- Coordinate and assist corporate management with transitions of identified project resources as needed.
REQUIREMENTS
Education & Experience:
- A bachelor’s degree in business administration, Computer Science, Information Technology, Management Technology, Engineering, or a related technical discipline is preferred
- 10 years of experience is required with an applicable bachelor’s degree.
- 14 years of experience is required without a degree or a non-applicable bachelor’s degree.
- Experience must include project management of IT Software and network infrastructure related projects and applications.
Required Technical Skills & Experience
- Advanced skills with MS Project to include fundamental operation, function, and workflow regarding timelines, dependencies, project expectations, milestones, and resources.
- Demonstrated ability to manage IT Software, Network Infrastructure projects and/or Applications Integrations projects in accordance with industry project management principles.
- Expert in supporting full lifecycle of projects through the IT Systems Development Lifecycle.
- Expert at eliciting information from stakeholders
- Demonstrated experience with expert-level communication and customer service skills
Preferred Skills & Experience
- IT project management experience within an Information Technology or Operational Technology environment
- Experience with Agile and Waterfall methodologies
