Minimum Requirements

  • Master’s Degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited educational program.
  • Completed Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) and current Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) from ASHA.
  • Active Indiana State SLP license required to start the assignment.
  • BLS certification from American Heart Association or American Red Cross may be required.
  • Experience in an acute care or hospital setting preferred, including assessment and treatment of adult dysphagia and cognitive-communication disorders.
  • Ability to perform comprehensive evaluations, develop individualized treatment plans, and provide patient/family training including home exercise programs.
  • Competence in documentation of daily notes, goal writing, discharge summaries, letters of medical necessity, and charge entry in accordance with hospital policies and regulatory guidelines.
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to address barriers to discharge and coordinate equipment trials and orders.
  • Willingness to participate in student supervision and professional development activities as assigned.
