About the Role
Senior Staff Accountant
We are seeking a skilled Senior Staff Accountant for a high-impact opportunity supporting a fast-paced finance team. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented professional with strong GASB and GAAP experience who can work independently and deliver results in a deadline-driven environment.
Key Responsibilities of the Senior Staff Accountant- Lead analysis and accounting for subscription-based IT agreements, including journal entries and supporting documentation
- Prepare and post journal entries and maintain the general ledger
- Support year-end close activities, including schedules and financial reporting
- Assist with financial statement preparation and potential audit support
- Utilize existing templates and prior documentation to streamline processes
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and GASB standards
- Proven ability to analyze data and work independently with minimal supervision
- Experience with government or higher education accounting preferred
- Intermediate to advanced Excel skills (e.g., VLOOKUP, data analysis)
- CPA or audit experience is a plus
- The ideal Senior Staff Accountant is a Self-starter who takes ownership of workstreams
- Strong problem-solving and research skills
- Ability to thrive in a collaborative yet autonomous environment
