## DescriptionTIAG is now hiring a **Senior SDET / Performance Engineer** to join our team supporting high-impact public service systems for King County. In this role, you will take end-to-end ownership of the performance engineering lifecycle, primarily focusing on the **Property Tax Administration System (PTAS)** while providing shared expert support for critical county infrastructure, including the **2026 Mid-Term Elections** and **Metro transit systems**. This position is onsite in Seattle, WA up to 2 days per week with additional onsite requirements throughout the month.The ideal candidate is a technical authority in load orchestration and bottleneck analysis, capable of simulating extreme concurrency (250,000+ users) and navigating complex Azure/F5 environments. You will be empowered to design realistic, secure, and repeatable large-scale tests that ensure citizen-facing services remain reliable under peak demand.Positions Responsibilities include:* Lead Performance Engineering: Manage the end-to-end performance testing process, establishing baselines and leading system capacity testing under peak loads.* Architect Realistic Simulations: Design and execute high-scale orchestration, including the technical approach for bypassing MFA in automated, non-production environments under IAM guardrails.* Analyze Cross-Layer Bottlenecks: Diagnose performance issues across the full stack, including application/API, Dataverse/OData, backend SQL, F5 load balancers (VIPs/pools/iRules), and Azure infrastructure.* Integrate CI/CD: Build and maintain automated load/stress tests within CI/CD pipelines to provide real-time visibility into performance trends across builds.* Deliver Actionable Intelligence: Produce management-ready Root Cause Analysis (RCA) reports, remediation tracking, and readiness sign-offs for go/no-go decisions.* Collaborate Across Teams: Coordinate with Network, CloudOps, Security, and application teams to schedule change windows and execute controlled peak-load rehearsals.* Knowledge Management: Maintain evergreen runbooks and playbooks for operations and incident response within the County repository.## QualificationsRequired Skills and Qualifications* 8+ years of professional experience in Software Engineering with a focus on deep Web Architecture, including HTTP/HTTPS, RESTful APIs, WebSockets, and DNS/CDN/Load Balancing.* 8+ years of hands-on scripting and programming experience in C#, Python, or JavaScript, including proficiency in Shell scripting and regular expressions.* 5+ years of mastery in Performance Testing tools, specifically Apache JMeter, Azure Test Cloud, and StressStimulus/BlazeMeter.* 5+ years of experience integrating performance tests into CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, or Jenkins) and working with containerization (Docker/Kubernetes).* 5+ years of experience with APM and monitoring tools such as Grafana, Prometheus, New Relic, or Dynatrace, and log analysis (ELK stack).* Proven ability to model complex ramp profiles and manage large-scale data parameterization/correlation.* Availability for occasional after-hours testing (typically 8:00 PM – 10:00 PM PT) as required by system maintenance windows (total hours remain 40/week).Preferred Qualifications* Experience with Microsoft Power Platform/Dataverse: Specifically validating Dataverse/OData API and backend performance.* Public Sector Experience: Familiarity with government-scale systems such as Election result reporting or transit operational workflows (Metro Yard Management).* Advanced Infrastructure Knowledge: Hands-on experience tuning F5 load balancer configurations and Azure autoscale quotas.* Security Mindset: Experience provisioning non-prod test identities and working within strict IAM-approved security guardrails.* Analytical Rigor: Ability to translate complex technical bottlenecks into \"management-ready\" findings and remediation plans.TIAG is an equal opportunity employer and federal contractor or subcontractor.
