Security Supervisor
About the Role
Reporting to the Security Superintendent, the Security Supervisor serves as the primary on-site leader for security operations and acts as the site Emergency Response Team (ERT) Lead. The role focuses on execution, coordination, and readiness of site security operations.
This position is located at the Copper World Project, located approximately 45 minutes southeast of Tucson in Helvetia, Arizona.
Role Accountabilities:
- Provide day-to-day operational oversight of site security activities, including access control, patrols, and incident response.
- Ensure consistent enforcement of site security procedures, post orders, and access requirements.
- Conduct daily briefings, shift handovers, and operational lineouts to maintain situational awareness.
- Monitor site activity and adjust security posture in response to operational tempo, weather, or emerging risks.
- Serve as the primary on-site security point of contact during assigned shifts.
- Provide leadership and oversight to site security personnel, ensuring professional conduct and operational effectiveness.
- Support onboarding, training, and development of security staff.
- Reinforce accountability, performance expectations, and adherence to site policies.
- Coordinate security staffing and coverage across shifts in support of site operations.
- Provide initial command and control for on-site response to security incidents, and emergencies.
- Ensure appropriate notification, escalation, and coordination in accordance with site procedures.
- Review, document, and submit incident reports with clear factual detail and follow-up actions.
- Support investigations in coordination with the Security Superintendent and other stakeholders.
- Serve as the site Emergency Response Team (ERT) Lead.
- Coordinate ERT training, drills, and readiness activities.
- Ensure emergency response equipment is maintained and operational.
- Support emergency preparedness efforts, including drills, evacuations, and incident simulations.
- Act as the on-site coordination lead during emergency events until relieved by senior leadership or external responders.
- Oversee daily operation of site security systems, including surveillance cameras, alarms, and access control devices.
- Identify equipment issues and coordinate maintenance or repair as needed.
- Ensure proper use and accountability of security equipment and assets.
Minimum Qualifications and Education:
- Bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice, Security Management, Emergency Management, or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience.
- Demonstrated experience leading day-to-day security operations in an industrial, construction, military, law enforcement, or emergency response environment.
- Prior experience supervising personnel or leading teams during routine operations and incident response.
- Experience responding to and managing security incidents and emergency situations.
- Strong leadership, communication, and decision-making skills in operational environments.
- Valid driver's license and ability to operate company vehicles.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Prior experience serving as an Emergency Response Team (ERT) member or lead, Fire Brigade member, Mine Rescue, or similar role.
- Experience with Incident Command System (ICS) principles (ICS 100/200).
- First Aid, CPR, and AED certification.
- Experience working in mining, construction, or other industrial operating environments.

The work environment will necessitate work near moving mechanical parts and outside weather conditions such as hot and/or dry conditions. Work will be conducted in locations where noise, fumes, dust, toxic or caustic chemicals, and vibration may exist.
Employee may be expected to drive a company vehicle while performing the job. Employees must be able to perform the physical functions of operating a motor vehicle, including use of eyes, ears, arms, hands, legs, and feet.
Employee must be able to prove that he/she has a current and valid driver's license.
