Rrt - Part Time
Memorial Health
Chatham County, Georgia, US
About the Role
Memorial Health, a leading healthcare provider in Savannah, Georgia, is seeking a dedicated Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) PRN to join our Healthcare & Medical Services team. In this per diem role, you will provide high-quality respiratory care to patients across a variety of acute and critical care settings, supporting Memorial Health’s mission of delivering advanced, patient-centered healthcare with compassion and excellence.
As an RRT PRN, you will perform comprehensive respiratory assessments, develop and implement care plans, and deliver therapeutic interventions for patients with a wide range of cardiopulmonary disorders. Your responsibilities will include administering and managing oxygen and aerosol therapies, bronchodilator treatments, chest physiotherapy, and airway management procedures. You will initiate, monitor, and adjust invasive and non-invasive mechanical ventilation in accordance with physician orders and established protocols, ensuring that ventilator settings are optimized for patient safety and comfort.
You will collaborate closely with physicians, nurses, and other members of the interdisciplinary care team to evaluate patient responses, interpret diagnostic data such as arterial blood gases and pulmonary function results, and adjust treatment plans based on evidence-based practice. The role includes responding rapidly to respiratory emergencies, including codes and rapid response calls, performing advanced airway support, and assisting with procedures such as intubation and extubation as directed.
Documentation of all assessments, interventions, patient responses, and education will be completed accurately and promptly in the electronic medical record. You will actively participate in patient and family education, explaining respiratory therapies, equipment use, and self-care strategies to support safe discharge and improved long-term outcomes. As a representative of Memorial Health’s culture of compassion and innovation, you will contribute to a safe, respectful, and collaborative work environment, and support continuous improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing quality, safety, and patient satisfaction.
In alignment with Memorial Health’s emphasis on ongoing professional growth, the RRT PRN will maintain current competencies, participate in continuing education, and stay current with emerging best practices, technologies, and regulatory requirements in respiratory care. You may be assigned to various units, including emergency, intensive care, step-down, and general medical-surgical floors, depending on patient needs and census. Flexibility to work variable shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays, is expected for this PRN role.
This position offers the opportunity to engage in meaningful, hands-on clinical work that directly impacts the health of the Savannah community, while benefiting from a supportive environment that values teamwork, evidence-based practice, and professional development.
