About the Role
Parkland Medical Center is seeking an experienced RN Medical Surgical Registered Nurse (Med Surg) to join our Healthcare & Medical Services team. In this role, you will provide safe, compassionate, and evidence-based nursing care to a diverse adult patient population on our busy medical-surgical unit. You will be responsible for comprehensive patient assessments, development and implementation of individualized care plans, medication administration, coordination of treatments, and ongoing evaluation of patient responses. Working closely with physicians, advanced practice providers, case managers, and allied health professionals, you will collaborate to deliver high-quality, patient-centered care while promoting optimal outcomes, early mobilization, and safe discharge planning.
The RN Med Surg will prioritize patient safety, infection prevention, and effective pain management, while educating patients and families about diagnoses, medications, and post-discharge care. You will utilize critical thinking and strong clinical judgment to recognize changes in patient condition, respond to emergencies, and escalate care when needed. Documentation will be completed accurately and timely within the electronic medical record, in accordance with regulatory and hospital standards.

Responsibilities

Qualifications
- RN license in appropriate state
- BLS/ACLS
- Med Surg experience preferred
