About the Role
CONTROLLER
*Location: San Antonio, TX (In-Office)* Relocation Assistance Offered!
Compensation: $150,000 - $165,000 (DOE)
A well-established and growing Texas-based restaurant company is seeking a hands-on, business-minded Controller to lead accounting operations and support continued expansion. This is a high-impact role for someone who understands the pace and complexity of quick-service, fast-casual, or casual dining environments and knows how to make systems work for business not the other way around.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Oversee all accounting operations including general ledger, AP/AR, payroll, and fixed assets
Lead monthly close and prepare timely, accurate financial statements
Own budgeting, forecasting, cash flow, and variance analysis
Ensure compliance with GAAP and internal controls
Manage external audits, tax filings, and third-party partners
Evaluate and optimize accounting systems and processes to support growth
Partner with executive and operations leadership to provide actionable financial insights
Develop, mentor, and lead the accounting team
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related fieldCPA preferred
7+ years of progressive accounting experience; 3+ years of leadership
Quick-Service, Fast-Food, or Casual Restaurant Environments required
Proven ability to simplify, adapt, and optimize ERP systems and processes
Hands-on leader who thrives in a fast-paced, operationally driven business
