Respiratory Therapy Supervisor, Evenings

Piedmont Healthcare is seeking a Respiratory Therapy Supervisor for evening shift operations within our Healthcare & Medical Services department. In this leadership role, you will oversee a team of respiratory therapists providing high-quality, patient-centered respiratory care across a variety of acute and critical care settings. Working in a non-profit, mission-driven health system, you will coordinate and supervise daily workflow for evening respiratory services, including staff assignments, patient prioritization, and resource allocation, ensuring that evidence-based standards, regulatory requirements, and hospital policies are consistently met.

The Respiratory Therapy Supervisor serves as an on-site clinical resource during evening hours, supporting therapists with complex assessments, ventilator management, and advanced respiratory procedures for adult and pediatric populations as appropriate. You will collaborate closely with physicians, nursing, and other members of the interdisciplinary team to develop and adjust respiratory care plans, respond to rapid response and code situations, and promote safe, effective care transitions. Responsibilities include monitoring quality indicators, assisting with performance improvement initiatives, and reinforcing best practices in infection prevention, patient safety, and documentation.

In addition to direct clinical oversight, this role is responsible for supporting staff development and engagement. The evening supervisor participates in orienting and mentoring new respiratory therapists, providing ongoing coaching and feedback, and helping identify training needs to enhance clinical competency and professional growth. You will help coordinate staffing schedules for evening coverage, contribute input to performance evaluations, and escalate operational issues as needed to respiratory leadership.
