Respiratory Care Practitioner (rrt)- Part Time Nights

Encompass Health is seeking a dedicated Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) to join our Healthcare & Medical Services team, delivering high-quality respiratory care in an inpatient rehabilitation setting. As a CRT, you will work closely with physicians, nurses, and an interdisciplinary rehab team to assess, treat, and monitor patients with acute and chronic cardiopulmonary conditions. You will perform respiratory assessments, administer prescribed respiratory therapies, manage oxygen and aerosol therapy, perform chest physiotherapy, and provide ventilator management under established protocols. You will also perform diagnostic procedures such as arterial blood gas sampling, pulse oximetry, and basic pulmonary function screening, accurately documenting findings in the electronic medical record and communicating changes in patient status to the healthcare team. In this role, you will educate patients and families on respiratory conditions, use of inhalers and nebulizers, breathing exercises, and strategies to support long-term respiratory health at home, reinforcing the Encompass Health focus on patient-centered rehabilitation. You will participate in care planning, contribute to interdisciplinary rounds, and collaborate on individualized rehab goals designed to maximize functional independence and quality of life. You will follow all infection control, safety, and quality improvement standards and assist in maintaining and calibrating respiratory therapy equipment to ensure safe and effective operation.
