About the Role As a Network Security Engineer at IP-Check, you will play a pivotal role in architecting, implementing, and maintaining the security posture of our extensive network infrastructure. You will be responsible for identifying vulnerabilities, mitigating risks, and ensuring the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of our systems and data. This position demands a proactive approach to security, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams. Key Responsibilities The successful candidate will undertake a range of critical responsibilities, including but not limited to: Security Architecture & Design: Develop and implement comprehensive network security architectures, policies, and procedures. Design secure network solutions that align with business objectives and industry best practices. Threat Detection & Prevention: Monitor network traffic for security breaches and suspicious activities. Implement and manage intrusion detection and prevention systems (IDPS), firewalls, VPNs, and other security technologies. Vulnerability Management: Conduct regular security audits, penetration testing, and vulnerability assessments to identify and address potential weaknesses. Develop remediation plans and oversee their implementation. Incident Response: Lead and participate in the response to security incidents, including investigation, containment, eradication, and recovery. Document incident details and collaborate on lessons learned. Security Operations: Manage and maintain network security devices and infrastructure, ensuring optimal performance and reliability. Policy Enforcement: Ensure compliance with security policies, standards, and regulatory requirements. Collaboration & Communication: Work closely with IT operations, system administrators, and other stakeholders to integrate security measures into all aspects of network operations. Provide technical guidance and support to team members. Documentation: Create and maintain detailed documentation of security configurations, network diagrams, and operational procedures. Stay Current: Continuously research and stay abreast of the latest security threats, trends, and technologies to enhance our defensive capabilities. Qualifications and Requirements To excel in this role, candidates should possess the following qualifications: Experience: A minimum of 5-7 years of progressive experience in network security engineering, with a demonstrated focus on designing, implementing, and managing enterprise-level security solutions. Technical Proficiency: Strong understanding of network protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP/S, etc.) and network architectures. Expertise in configuring and managing firewalls (e.g., Palo Alto, Fortinet, Cisco ASA), VPNs, IDS/IPS systems, and endpoint security solutions. Proficiency in security assessment tools and techniques. Experience with cloud security (AWS, Azure, GCP) is highly desirable. Knowledge of SIEM solutions (e.g., Splunk, QRadar) for log analysis and security event correlation. Problem-Solving Skills: Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a proven capacity to diagnose and resolve complex security issues under pressure. Communication: Superior written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences. Education: A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience. Certifications: Relevant industry certifications such as CISSP, CompTIA Security+, CCNA Security, or GIAC certifications are a significant plus. Work Ethic: Self-motivated, highly organized, and able to work independently with minimal supervision in a remote environment.
