Registered Nurse Rn Float Pool Nc
About the Role
HCA Healthcare is seeking a compassionate and adaptable Registered Nurse RN Float Pool NC to join our Healthcare & Medical Services team. In this role, you will provide high-quality, evidence-based nursing care across multiple inpatient units, supporting a variety of patient populations based on hospital needs. As a Float Pool RN, you will assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care, collaborating closely with physicians, interdisciplinary team members, patients, and families to deliver safe, coordinated, and patient-centered care.
You will be responsible for managing a diverse caseload, including medical-surgical, telemetry, step-down, and specialty units as appropriate to your competencies and hospital assignments. Your day-to-day responsibilities include performing comprehensive patient assessments, administering medications and treatments accurately, monitoring vital signs and clinical status, responding to changes in patient condition, and documenting care in the electronic health record with precision and timeliness. You will also provide patient and family education, promote discharge readiness, and actively participate in care planning and transitions.
Because this is a float pool position, you will regularly adapt to new environments, workflows, and teams. You will use strong critical thinking, time management, and prioritization skills to deliver safe care in fast-paced settings, often caring for patients with complex and acute conditions. You will collaborate with unit leaders to understand daily staffing needs, receive and give thorough handoffs, and uphold hospital policies, infection prevention practices, and regulatory standards in every assignment.
Rooted in HCA Healthcare’s culture of compassion, teamwork, and learning, this position offers the opportunity to grow clinically while working alongside highly skilled colleagues across multiple specialties. You will participate in ongoing education, competencies, and professional development programs, and may serve as a resource and mentor to newer staff. You are expected to uphold the highest standards of integrity, safety, and patient advocacy while contributing to quality improvement initiatives and evidence-based practice changes.
