Department administrator. Establishes and enforces policies, procedures, standards and objectives. Directs and supervises staff as well as

workflow. Position has budgetary or fiscal accountability. Responsible 24 hours a day for the ongoing effective operation of the assigned Nursing

department by exerting a leadership role which supports the hospital’s mission, vision, goals and objectives, while focusing on the patients,

physicians, employees, volunteers and the community as customers. Ongoing accountability for the continuous assessment, improvement,

coordination and integration of the department services and standards of care into the hospital’s primary function. Position is responsible for

approving timekeeping, employee evaluation, meeting applicable regulatory standards, approving supply orders and department strategic planning

  • FINANCE 60;
    • Responsible for Budget preparation and adherence based on volume 60;
      Responsible for Supply Chain Management for Department needs 60;
      Monitor productivity/cost per unit of service on a regular basis to meet established budgetary guidelines. -As necessary establish and implement action plans when variances occur 60;
      Plans work assignments and resource allocation with full consideration of timeliness and financial impact

      Support organization strategies to increase volumes
      Mentors and develops staff 60;
  • PEOPLE 60;
    60;
    • Complete timely 30 day stay interviews and 90 days and annual evaluations 60;
    • Hires, terminates, trains, evaluates performance and supervises staff to provide professional, courteous and timely services 60;
    • Review turnover trends and develop action plans to address unanticipated variances 60;
    • Promotes employee engagement thru staff participation in department operations and activities as measured thru employee engagement tools 60;
    • Appropriately manages staff to ensure compliance with applicable standards, adheres to organization's policies and procedures, including standards of behavior and safety guidelines 60;
    • Enhances communication between various levels of staff, departments and customers to promote a caring and respectful work environment 60;
    • Provides direction and delegation in a positive, professional manner and ensures follow-through
    • Cultivates and promotes staff expertise and knowledge relevant to the needs of the specific environment. Assists with the formation, implementation, and maintenance of policies and procedures, job descriptions, and competencies 60;
    • Performs the necessary edits for Kronos time management system and payroll 60;
    • Develops, reviews and updates policies and procedures, standards of care relevant to the department 60;
  • QUALITY

    • Maintains and monitors JCAHO and other regulatory requirements 60;
    • Gathers and reports quality indicators generated by department activity 60;
    • Support organization strategies to meet core measure goals 60;
    • Develops and implements action plans to improve patient experience 60;
  • SERVICE 60;
    • Engage physicians to promote physician's relations as measured by physician satisfaction survey
    • Assists and/or promotes positive patient experience thru various stages of care as measured by patient satisfaction survey 60;
    • Develops and implements actions plans to improve the overall patient satisfaction scores 60;
    • Promotes excellence in patient experience 60;
    • Interacts effectively and efficiently with management and staff to ensure issues are resolved in a timely manner 60;
    • Assures proper function, maintenance and repair of all instrumentation and equipment, including repair records, service contracts, and preventive maintenance schedules 60;
    • Serves as hospital representative on medical staff committees.

  • Specials Skills: Must be able to utilize independent decision-making skills in a wide variety of situations. Requires a high degree of accuracy in the performance of varied responsibilities. Personal computer skills required. Frequent contact with employees, physicians, customers, community individuals and volunteers. Must be self-motivated to complete work in a timely manner to meet deadlines. Computer skills required.

  • Minimum Requirements: 60;
    • Education: Bachelor's Degree in Nursing, Business Administration, Management or related field, or equivalent minimum experience requirements.
    • Required Course/s/Training: For Wound Care: Trainilng in wound care and hyperbaric therapy from a nationally recognized provider.
    • Experience: Five years experience in nursing management in a hospital setting with three years supervisory experience required.
    • Licensure/Certification: Current Arizona Registered Nurse License.
  • Preferred Requirements:
    • Education: MSN
    • Certification/Registration: For Wound Care - WOCN
