Registered Nurse Medsurg Oncology

Ascension is seeking a compassionate, patient-focused Registered Nurse to join our MedSurg Oncology team within our Healthcare & Medical Services department. As part of one of the largest non-profit healthcare organizations in the U.S., you will provide holistic, evidence-based care to adult patients with oncology diagnoses and complex medical-surgical needs across a variety of treatment phases, including initial diagnosis, active treatment, symptom management, and palliative or end-of-life care. In this role, you will perform comprehensive assessments, develop and implement individualized plans of care, and closely monitor patients for changes in condition, partnering with an interdisciplinary team to deliver safe, high-quality care. You will administer medications, blood products, and oncology-related therapies in accordance with best practices and safety standards, manage central lines and IV therapies, provide wound and symptom management, and ensure accurate, timely documentation within the electronic medical record. A key component of this position is education and support for patients and families as they navigate complex treatment plans. You will provide clear instruction on diagnoses, medications, side effects, symptom control, and post-discharge care, while advocating for patient preferences and goals.
