Registered Nurse
About the Role
Novant Health is seeking a compassionate and skilled Registered Nurse to join our Healthcare & Medical Services team within the Healthcare & Medical Services department. In this role, you will provide safe, evidence-based, patient-centered nursing care to individuals and families across a variety of clinical settings, using advanced technology and a collaborative approach to improve health outcomes. As a key member of the interdisciplinary care team, you will perform comprehensive patient assessments, contribute to the development and implementation of individualized care plans, administer medications and treatments, and closely monitor patient responses, escalating concerns and collaborating with providers to adjust plans of care as needed. You will document all aspects of care accurately and efficiently within the electronic health record (EHR), ensuring timely communication of critical information to physicians, advanced practice providers, and other team members. This position requires excellent clinical judgment, strong communication skills, and the ability to prioritize and manage multiple patients in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a high standard of safety and compassion. At Novant Health, you will play a vital role in educating patients and their families about diagnoses, medications, procedures, and discharge instructions, supporting them to make informed decisions and successfully transition across the continuum of care. You will adhere to established clinical protocols, infection prevention and control practices, and regulatory standards, actively participating in quality improvement and patient safety initiatives that align with Novant Health’s mission of improving health. You will help foster a culture that values diversity, equity, inclusion, and psychological safety, contributing to a respectful, team-oriented environment where every voice is heard and every patient receives personalized care. In collaboration with physicians, therapists, pharmacists, case managers, and other disciplines, you will coordinate services, participate in interdisciplinary rounds, and advocate for patient needs and preferences. You will support new staff and students through precepting and mentorship as appropriate, and engage in ongoing professional development to enhance your clinical skills and advance your nursing practice. Opportunities at Novant Health include participation in shared governance councils, evidence-based practice projects, and career advancement pathways that recognize clinical expertise and leadership. This role is primarily on-site in a clinical or hospital setting and may require rotating shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays, depending on unit needs. In return, Novant Health offers a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, and retirement savings options, along with resources for wellness, continuing education, and professional growth.
