Registered Nurse | Leesburg Cath Lab | Day Shift | Full Time

UF Health is seeking a dedicated and skilled Registered Nurse to join our Leesburg Cath Lab on the day shift in a full-time role. As part of our Healthcare & Medical Services team, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality, patient-centered cardiac care in a fast-paced, procedure-driven environment. Working within a comprehensive academic health center known for innovative research and excellent education, you will collaborate closely with physicians, technologists, and fellow nurses to provide safe, efficient, and compassionate care to patients undergoing diagnostic and interventional cardiac and vascular procedures. In this position, you will be responsible for the full continuum of nursing care for patients in the cardiac catheterization laboratory, including pre-procedure preparation, intra-procedure monitoring and support, and post-procedure recovery and education. You will perform thorough assessments, review patient histories, verify orders and consents, initiate IV access, and ensure that patients and families understand the procedure plan and expectations. During procedures, you will monitor cardiac rhythms and hemodynamic status, administer medications and moderate sedation as ordered, maintain sterile and aseptic technique, and anticipate the needs of the interventional cardiology team to support optimal outcomes. You will apply strong clinical judgment to recognize and respond to changes in patient status, intervening promptly in collaboration with the care team in the event of complications or emergencies. This role requires proficiency or the ability to rapidly develop proficiency in operating and assisting with specialized cath lab equipment, understanding radiation safety principles, managing vascular access sites, and supporting procedures such as diagnostic cardiac catheterizations, coronary interventions, peripheral vascular interventions, and device-related procedures. After procedures, you will provide close monitoring during recovery, manage pain and comfort, reinforce post-procedure instructions, and coordinate transitions of care, including discharge or transfer to other levels of care. As a Registered Nurse at UF Health, you will document all assessments, interventions, and outcomes accurately and timely in the electronic medical record, adhering to organizational policies, regulatory requirements, and professional nursing standards.
