About the Role

Methodist Health System is seeking a compassionate and skilled full-time Registered Nurse to join our Emergency Department within our Healthcare & Medical Services team. As a key member of our front-line care staff, you will provide high-quality, patient-centered emergency nursing care to individuals of all ages presenting with a wide range of acute and critical conditions. Guided by our commitment to integrity, compassion, and accountability, you will play a vital role in improving and saving lives in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
In this role, you will be responsible for rapid and comprehensive patient assessments, prioritizing care through triage, and delivering evidence-based nursing interventions for medical, surgical, trauma, and behavioral health emergencies. You will initiate and manage IV therapy, administer medications safely, monitor cardiac and respiratory status, respond to changes in patient condition, and coordinate care with physicians, advanced practice providers, respiratory therapists, and other members of the interdisciplinary team. You will also provide clear, empathetic communication and education to patients and their families, supporting them through stressful and often life-changing situations.
The Registered Nurse in the Emergency Department will demonstrate strong critical thinking, sound clinical judgment, and the ability to perform effectively under pressure. You will be expected to follow established protocols and policies, maintain accurate and timely electronic medical record documentation, and contribute to continuous quality improvement and patient safety initiatives. Adherence to infection prevention standards, safe medication practices, and regulatory requirements is essential.

This full-time position requires flexibility to work varying shifts, including evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays, to meet the needs of a 24/7 Emergency Department. Candidates should bring prior acute care or critical care experience, along with current BLS and ACLS certifications, and be prepared to obtain pediatric emergency certifications as needed.
