Registered Nurse, Cath Lab
About the Role
Central Carolina Hospital, a dedicated healthcare provider in Sanford, NC, is seeking a Registered Nurse to join our Cath Lab team within our Healthcare & Medical Services department. In this specialized role, you will provide high-quality, patient-centered nursing care to individuals undergoing diagnostic and interventional cardiac procedures, supporting our mission to improve community health through compassionate, safe, and expert clinical practice. As a Cath Lab Registered Nurse, you will be responsible for delivering comprehensive care throughout the procedural continuum. You will perform detailed pre-procedure assessments, verify consents, review histories and medications, and prepare patients and families by explaining procedures, expectations, and post-procedure care. During procedures, you will collaborate closely with cardiologists, technologists, and other team members to maintain a safe, efficient environment while assisting with sterile techniques, managing equipment and supplies, and supporting the physician and team. You will continuously monitor patients’ hemodynamic status, cardiac rhythms, oxygenation, and level of consciousness, recognizing and responding promptly to any changes in condition. Using your advanced clinical skills, you will administer medications, including moderate sedation, according to established protocols and provider orders, ensuring optimal comfort and safety. Post-procedure, you will provide vigilant recovery care, manage vascular access sites, assess for bleeding or complications, and reinforce patient and family education regarding activity restrictions, medications, and follow-up. In this role, you will be expected to uphold strict infection prevention and radiation-safety practices, maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic medical record, and actively support quality and safety initiatives that align with our culture of excellence in patient satisfaction and outcomes. You will participate in emergency responses, including code situations, applying ACLS-level skills as needed to stabilize patients. Collaboration, communication, and teamwork are essential as you coordinate with multiple disciplines to deliver seamless care in a fast-paced procedural environment. Central Carolina Hospital offers a supportive, collaborative setting where nurses are valued members of the care team and encouraged to grow professionally. You can expect opportunities for ongoing education and skills development in cardiac and interventional procedures, exposure to state-of-the-art technology, and the ability to contribute meaningfully to community health improvement. This is an on-site, full-time position that may include participation in call rotations to support emergent Cath Lab procedures. Our culture emphasizes quality, safety, compassion, and patient-centered care, and we seek nurses who share these values and are committed to delivering exceptional service to every patient, every time. We offer a competitive compensation package, comprehensive health benefits including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, and retirement options such as a 401k plan, along with opportunities for recognition and performance-based bonuses. If you are an experienced Registered Nurse with a passion for cardiac care and a desire to work in a mission-driven environment focused on community well-being, we invite you to consider joining the Cath Lab team at Central Carolina Hospital.
