Radiology Technicians
About the Role
Physicians Care, a nonprofit organization providing free healthcare services to uninsured adults in Cobb County, Georgia, is seeking dedicated Radiology Technicians to join our Healthcare & Medical Services team. In this role, you will provide high-quality diagnostic imaging services that directly support our mission of improving community health, expanding access to care, and reducing avoidable emergency room visits for vulnerable patients. As a Radiology Technician with Physicians Care, you will perform routine and limited specialized radiographic examinations for adult patients under the direction of our physicians and advanced practice providers. You will be responsible for accurately positioning patients, operating imaging equipment, following established imaging protocols, and ensuring that all radiographic studies are completed safely, efficiently, and with exceptional attention to image quality. You will work closely with medical, dental, and pharmacy staff in a collaborative clinical environment, helping providers make timely, informed diagnostic and treatment decisions. This position requires a strong commitment to compassionate, patient-centered care. Many of our patients face financial, cultural, or language barriers to healthcare, and you will play a vital role in creating a welcoming, respectful experience while explaining procedures clearly, addressing concerns, and maintaining patient comfort and dignity. You will strictly adhere to radiation safety standards, applying ALARA principles at all times to protect patients, staff, and yourself. Responsibilities include verifying patient identity and exam orders, obtaining relevant clinical history, positioning and shielding patients appropriately, adjusting technical factors for optimal exposure, and maintaining accurate patient and exam documentation in our electronic health record and imaging systems. You will also assist in maintaining imaging equipment and exam rooms, performing routine quality checks, reporting malfunctions, and helping to ensure compliance with regulatory, safety, and infection control standards. Working at Physicians Care offers an opportunity to make a tangible difference in the lives of underserved adults while gaining valuable experience in a nonprofit clinical setting. You will collaborate daily with a small, supportive team of clinicians, nurses, and volunteers who share a deep dedication to community service and high-quality patient care. Our culture emphasizes compassion, teamwork, reliability, and continuous learning. Radiology Technicians in this role are expected to demonstrate professionalism, strong communication skills, flexibility in a fast-paced clinic environment, and a willingness to assist in other clinical support tasks when needed to keep patient flow efficient. This may include coordinating with front desk staff, assisting with patient transport or preparation, and helping providers review imaging needs. Candidates should bring solid technical skills in radiographic imaging, familiarity with digital imaging and PACS, and a thorough understanding of radiation safety and infection control practices. An accredited radiologic technology education, ARRT certification or eligibility, and a current or attainable Georgia technologist license are expected. Basic Life Support certification is also required. Experience in outpatient, community health, or nonprofit settings is a plus, as is comfort working with diverse populations. In return, Physicians Care offers a mission-driven environment where Radiology Technicians can build their clinical expertise, contribute directly to improved community health outcomes, and find meaningful, rewarding work serving patients who might otherwise go without necessary diagnostic imaging.
