Radiology Tech
About the Role
Physicians Care, a nonprofit organization providing free healthcare services to uninsured adults in Cobb County, Georgia, is seeking a compassionate and skilled Radiology Tech to support our mission of improving community health and reducing avoidable ER visits. In this role, you will perform diagnostic radiographic examinations for adult patients, many of whom face significant financial and access barriers to care. You will work closely with physicians, nurses, and other clinical team members in our healthcare and medical services department to deliver accurate, timely imaging that supports high-quality diagnosis and treatment. As a Radiology Tech at Physicians Care, you will be responsible for preparing and positioning patients for a variety of diagnostic X-ray procedures, operating digital radiography equipment, and ensuring that images meet diagnostic quality standards. You will follow strict radiation safety guidelines and infection control protocols to protect patients, staff, and yourself, and you will maintain detailed, accurate documentation in the electronic medical record and PACS systems. Many of our patients may be anxious, in pain, or unfamiliar with radiology procedures, so you will use clear communication, patience, and empathy to explain exams, answer questions, and promote a calm, respectful environment. Your daily work will include collaborating with providers to prioritize imaging requests, verifying orders, and confirming patient identity and history prior to each exam. You will adjust technical factors and positioning based on patient condition and body habitus, review images for clarity and completeness before releasing them for interpretation, and repeat views when clinically necessary. You will assist with basic patient care activities within your scope, such as helping patients on and off the exam table, monitoring comfort and safety during procedures, and promptly reporting any concerning findings or changes in patient status to the clinical team. In keeping with Physicians Care’s culture of compassion, dedication, and community service, you will contribute to a supportive, team-oriented environment focused on improving patient care and community health outcomes. You will participate in equipment cleaning and basic troubleshooting, quality control checks, and coordination with vendors or service technicians as needed. You will also help refine workflows that enhance patient throughput without compromising the personal, patient-centered attention that defines our clinic. This position offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on underserved individuals while working alongside committed medical professionals in a nonprofit healthcare setting. You will gain valuable experience in safety-net medicine, community health, and interprofessional collaboration, while maintaining a high standard of technical radiology practice. The ideal candidate will have formal training in radiologic technology, current certification or eligibility for ARRT and state licensure, strong technical skills in digital imaging, and a genuine desire to serve patients with kindness, respect, and professionalism in an on-site clinical environment at Physicians Care.
