About the Role

Baylor Scott & White Health is seeking a skilled Radiology Tech for CT/X-ray PRN Nights to join our Healthcare & Medical Services team within our hospital-based imaging department. In this role, you will provide high-quality CT and diagnostic X-ray imaging services for a diverse population of inpatients, emergency, and outpatients during night shifts, supporting our mission to deliver safe, precise, and compassionate care across our leading not-for-profit healthcare system in Texas. Working collaboratively with radiologists, emergency and inpatient clinical teams, and fellow technologists, you will perform a wide range of CT and general radiographic procedures, from routine studies to complex trauma and critical care exams, ensuring accurate imaging that supports timely diagnosis and treatment. You will be responsible for verifying physician orders, reviewing patient history, screening for contraindications to contrast, properly positioning patients, and selecting appropriate technical factors while adhering to ALARA principles and all radiation safety and regulatory standards. This position requires confident operation of CT and X-ray equipment, PACS and RIS systems, and electronic medical records, as well as the ability to initiate IV access and safely administer contrast according to protocol and policy when required. As a PRN night technologist, you will work variable, as-needed night hours, often with a high degree of independence, triaging and prioritizing imaging exams based on clinical urgency and coordinating closely with nursing and providers in fast-paced environments such as the emergency department and intensive care units. You will monitor patients before, during, and after exams, recognizing and responding to changes in condition, and escalating concerns promptly. The role demands strong attention to detail in image quality assessment, exam documentation, radiation dose recording, and adherence to departmental protocols and accreditation standards. You will contribute to maintaining a clean, safe, and well-organized imaging environment, following infection prevention and equipment care guidelines, and participating in quality improvement, competency, and continuing education activities. At Baylor Scott & White Health, you will be part of a culture of caring, collaboration, and innovation, where patient experience, safety, and inclusivity are at the forefront. This role offers the opportunity to expand skills across both CT and radiography, cross-train within the imaging department as needed, and grow professionally in a supportive and technologically advanced setting. Successful candidates typically hold ARRT certification in Radiography, with CT certification or eligibility, a current Texas radiologic technologist license, and prior hospital-based imaging experience, along with a commitment to excellent patient communication, teamwork, and continuous learning.
